Artsakh MP says false peace narrative a 'trap' for Armenia's security
Azerbaijan continues to put forward new demands for a peace deal with Armenia in response to the country’s readiness to provide eight new minefield maps to Baku, debunking the false narrative that Artsakh’s surrender would bring peace to the region, claims Metakse Hakobyan, an opposition deputy of the Artsakh National Assembly.
"In response to the submissive statement of Armenia's ruling team on the transfer of the minefield maps to Azerbaijao, which also reaffirms Armenia’s commitment to the fictitious "peace agenda", Azerbaijan, angry at its "Armenian" partners who surrendered Artsakh to them and are ready to make constant concessions, has issued new orders and assignments,” she posted on Facebook on Friday.
“All this will not stop and comes to prove that the false narrative "let's surrender Artsakh and live in peace" is a trap for Armenia's security, statehood and the preservation of the Armenian identity as a whole. It will continue so long as the authorities who hate Armenians are the masters of our fate," the MP added.
Hakobyan shared a photo from an event organized by former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan during Azerbaijan’s months-long blockade of Artsakh in 2023.
"The Republic of Artsakh is blockaded as a result of criminal conspiracies. Difficult times are ahead, but we must honorably deal with this situation to have the right and opportunity to have a homeland,” the Artsakh MP added.
