Armenia's deputy minister of economy reportedly arrested
Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economy Ani Ispiryan has reportedly been arrested as part of a criminal probe involving the ministry.
The Investigative Committee has not yet confirmed the reports, only saying large-scale investigative measures, including searches in the Ministry of Economy and in the homes of a number of persons, are underway.
“Further details will be communicated if necessary," Investigation Committee spokesman Gor Abrahamyan told Panorama.am.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan dismissed Ani Ispiryan as deputy minister of economy on January 30.
According to 168.am, the head of the ministry’s Public Investments Department has also been arrested.
