Talks underway for exhibition of Goddess Anahit statue in Yerevan, museum says
Negotiations are currently ongoing between the History Museum of Armenia and the British Museum to exhibit the bronze head statue of the Goddess Anahit in Yerevan.
"The works are still at a preliminary stage. After reaching the working stage, we will make an official statement and release all details at a news conference," the History Museum told Panorama.am on Wednesday.
Earlier today, Armenia’s Tourism Committee announced that the Anahit statue kept at the British Museum would be displayed in Yerevan for the first time in September 2024 as a result of an agreement between the History Museum of Armenia and the British Museum.
National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan welcomed the statement in a social media post.
“I am glad that we managed to put this long-discussed initiative into practice. Armenia has been waiting for the Goddess Anahit for a long time,” he posted.
