TV host Lusine Tovmasyan's father-in-law detained
Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday ordered Director of Synergy International Systems Ashot Hovhannisyan to be detained for two months sought by investigators.
Another Synergy employee was detained for a month, the Hraparak daily reported.
The arrests are part of an investigation into corruption in Armenia’s Ministry of Economy.
The Investigative Committee said on Wednesday that six employees of the ministry were arrested in the corruption probe.
Ashot Hovhannisyan is a dual national who also holds U.S. citizenship. He is the father-in-law of TV host and Vice-Miss Europe 2005 Lusine Tovmasyan.
