Opposition MP: Authorities try to present surrender of Artsakh as salvation
Statements by members of Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party regarding Artsakh confirm it was deliberately surrendered to Azerbaijan, claims opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan.
“Various anti-national and treacherous statements on Artsakh by representatives of Armenia’s political leadership come to prove that the ruling party made concessions in the Artsakh issue, surrendering it not only to win Azerbaijan's favor and present it as a concession, but also because it shares Azerbaijan’s views on the matter,” Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition Pativ Unem faction, wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
"Those who secured Artsakh's right to self-determination in the government programs, budget and election programs for 3-4 years, today speak about Artsakh in a way as if they were not the ones who shouted at the top of their voices in Stepanakert's Renaissance Square that "Artsakh is Armenia, period!"
“When many of us warned at the time that these people had come to power to surrender Artsakh, they vehemently denied it. And now they don't even say that they failed. They openly say that Artsakh is Azerbaijan and poses a threat, attempting to present the surrender of Artsakh as salvation," Abrahamyan emphasized.
