Opposition MP accuses Pashinyan of bowing to Azerbaijan's demands
Opposition MP Hayk Mamijanyan has dismissed Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's push for a new constitution as a “fake agenda”.
“I don't think they will complete this process,” he told reporters on Friday.
Mamijanyan, a RPA member who leads the opposition Pativ Unem parliamentray faction, reiterated his team's strong criticism of the Armenian leadership’s remarks about the constitution. Meanwhile, he said political discussions in Armenia should not focus exclusively on this issue.
Mamijanyan accused Pashinyan of bowing to Azerbaijan’s demands.
“The major problem in the country is that Armenia’s chief negotiator is exclusively engaged in fulfilling Azerbaijan's ultimatums,” he stated.
“There are numerous examples. One of them is that Pashinyan seems to agree to negotiations [with Azerbaijan] without a mediator, which would be a suicide,” the MP noted, insisting on the need for a change of power in Armenia.
“Pashinyan’s ouster is the only way to ensure Armenia’s security,” Mamijanyan said.
