Armenian soldiers killed by Azeri fire were YVU members
The four Armenian soldiers killed by Azerbaijani fire early on Tuesday were members of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union (YVU), the group said in a statement.
The Defense Ministry identified the fallen servicemen as Edward Harutyunyan (1974), Gagik Manukyan (1982), Arsen Hambardzumyan (1979) and Hrachya Hovhannisyan (1957).
Another YVU member, Rostam Vardanyan (1988) was wounded in Azerbaijani shooting. His health condition is currently assessed as moderate, with no immediate threat to life.
"The Yerkrapah Volunteer Union expresses condolences and support to the family members and fellow soldiers of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to Rostam Vardanyan," reads the statement.
