Pashinyan meets with Blinken in Munich
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Munich on Saturday.
The talks were held in the margins of the Munich Security Conference.
Pashinyan posted a short video of the meeting on his Facebook page.
Blinken said the U.S. highly values Armenia's commitment to a dignified and lasting peace.
"Armenia is a very valuable partner for the United States, and we appreciate its commitment to lasting peace. We can also strengthen the ties between our countries in all directions. We have discussed all this with Prime Minister Pashinyan," he added.
Blinken reiterated the U.S. readiness to continue efforts in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.
Pashinyan, in his turn, hailed the dynamics in U.S.-Armenia relations, noting that a very effective partnership was established after the launch of the Strategic Dialogue in 2019.
“This year is also important, we are looking forward to the meeting with our American partners with a rather extensive agenda. This will be a very good opportunity to discuss various issues to make our dialogue more effective,” the premier said.
Speaking about regional issues, Pashinyan said at the moment there is a new phase of tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that the recent escalation resulted in Armenian casualties.
