Artsakh president rejects 'fabricated' case against his bodyguard
Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan (in exile) has rejected the charges against his bodyguard as “fabricated” and called for his immediate release.
Shahramanyan's security guard, Ashot Danielyan, was arrested for “drug possession and sales” on Tuesday.
The Artsakh leader was today summoned to the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia for questioning regarding his report filed back in November last year.
“I’d like to ask the law-enforcement authorities to promptly arrange Ashot Danielyan’s release because the case against him is fabricated,” Shahramanyan told 24News after leaving the Anti-Corruption Committee building, also questioning the legitimacy of his bodyguard's arrest.
“His arrest from the presidential state car in city center raises numerous questions pending answers,” he added.
Shahramanyan insisted on efforts to resolve the issue of Artsakh and its people who were forced to flee to Armenia following the Azerbaijani attack and seizure of Artsakh in September 2023.
