Armenian defense minister hails 'far-reaching' military cooperation with France
The visit of French Minister for the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu to Armenia testifies to the systemic and far-reaching military cooperation between the two countries, Armenia Defense Minister Suren Papikyan announced on Friday. Lecornu arrived in Armenia at Papikyan’s invitation late on Thursday.
“The bilateral cooperation covers virtually all sectors of the activities of the armed forces. I’d like to underscore France's comprehensive consultative support for defense reforms, military education, the rapidly developing sphere of military exercises, and of course the modernization of defense measures and development of military and technical cooperation,” Papikyan told a joint news conference with the French official in Yerevan.
He highlighted that the bilateral cooperation is developing in more than a dozen directions.
"The signed documents will lay a new foundation for the development of the cooperation agenda," the defense minister added.
