U.S. State Dept: Russia not concerned about Armenia’s interests
The U.S. Department of State has responded to an inquiry of the Voice of America’s Armenian Service regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's latest statements on the suspension of Armenia's membership in the CSTO and Yerevan’s steps in the defense sector.
The State Department says the U.S. respects Armenia’s desire to continue the security relations it has chosen as an independent country and supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in the region.
Referring to the problems in Armenian-Russian relations, the Department of State noted: "Russia is not a reliable ally or partner in the South Caucasus or elsewhere. We have repeatedly seen that Russia is not concerned about the interests of Armenia."
