Opposition MP slams Pashinyan's foreign policy
Opposition MP Armen Rustamyan has denounced the “destructive” foreign policy pursued by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government, calling for a strong national resistance front to stop the loss of Armenian statehood.
“Talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan are basically non-existent,” the lawmaker told a press briefing on Tuesday.
He claims the Armenian authorities are bowing to all demands put forward by Azerbaijan in an effort to avert a new war.
“The authorities are doing everything possible not to anger our enemies and find a common language. But it can be achieved only through the renunciation of our identity,” stated Rustamyan, who represents the opposition Hayastahn faction.
Referring to the possible visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Armenia, he noted that it would further complicate the situation.
"Armenia could become a platform of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Pashinyan's foreign policy is bringing the Russia-West war to Armenia with all the ensuing consequences,” the MP said.
