Pro-government MPs welcome resumption of Armenia-Azerbaijan talks
The ruling Civil Contract party’s parliamentary faction welcomes the resumption of normalization talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan, MP Vladimir Vardanyan said on Friday, referring to the two-day negotiations between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Berlin.
"This is crucial for the implementation of further processes. The meetings continue which is a positive signal," he told reporters.
Civil Contract faction secretary Artur Hovhannisyan, in turn, says that his team considers effective all those platforms where the negotiated principles for a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku are respected.
"During the meeting in Granada, the countries signed a document confirming these principles. Consequently, we welcome all platforms where these principles are respected. We welcome negotiations in any format that would lead to peace in the region," the MP remarked.
