What does Toivo Klaar suggest?
Political analyst Suren Surenyants, the leader of the Democratic Alternative Party, has reacted to the remarks of Toivo Klaar, the EU's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, at a panel discussion on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on Friday.
"EU special envoy Toivo Klaar attaches importance to Turkey's role as a "regional leader” in addition to the EU,” Surenyants posted on Facebook.
“Armenia is shown the country from which guarantees should be obtained to break free of Russian influence. This is exactly the policy that Pashinyan is pursuing.
“It’s a dangerous path leading to conflict, which could put Armenian statehood at risk. My proposed formula remains unchanged: the survival of Armenian statehood is conditioned by the new level of Armenian-Russian and Armenian-Turkish relations,” he stated.
