Two Armenian boxers claim victories at Olympic qualification event
The Armenian boxers continue their successful performances at the 1st World Qualification Tournament, the first global boxing qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics being held in Busto Arsizio, Italy, on March 3-11.
Gurgen Madoyan (71 kg) celebrated his second victory at the Olympic qualification tournament, defeating Spain's Sergio Martinez 4-1, the Boxing Federation of Armenia reported on Friday.
He is set to face Sarkhan Aliyev of Azerbaijan in the 1/8 finals.
World Championship bronze medalist Narek Manasyan (92 kg) won his first bout against Daniel Guzmán of the Dominican Republic.
