Armenian MP: Azerbaijan working to enforce yet another demand
Azerbaijan's demand for the handover of four villages in Tavush Province is not something new in the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan says.
"Aliyev spoke about this directly several months ago when he said that four non-enclave villages should be surrendered to Baku without any conditions, stressing the need for additional discussions on four enclaves to understand how communication with them will be ensured,” Abrahamyan, the secretary of the opposition Pativ Unem faction, wrote on Facebook on Monday.
“One of the problems here is that after the issue of border clarification became part of the negotiation process in 2020, Baku, through the use of force and coercion and in line with its own perceptions, occupied not only Artsakh, but also a number of areas inside Armenia during 2020-2023, resulting in several hundred casualties on the Armenian side.
“While Pashinyan and his teammates are complacently enjoying themselves, Azerbaijan is making diplomatic and propaganda efforts towards the realization of yet another demand it has put forward," the deputy stated.
