Pashinyan slammed for 'rubbish talk' at news conference
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday held a press conference, making some disturbing statements.
Speaking about Azerbaijan’s renewed demands for Armenia to withdraw from four villages in Tavush Province, Pashinyan noted: "The names of the villages being circulated in the Azerbaijani media have never existed in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, neither in the Soviet nor in the post-Soviet periods."
Panorama.am conducted a survey in Yerevan on Wednesday, asking the respondents whether they watched Pashinian's press conference, whether or not they believed the Armenian authorities were planning to cede Tavush villages to Azerbaijan, what conclusions they drew from the PM’s statements and how the public should react to them.
Many of those interviewed noted that they were reluctant to listen to Pashinyan.
"We didn’t understand any of his statements. He was talking rubbish. I don't know what happens to me when you say his name... Is it possible to listen to him? You need steady nerves for it,” a responded said.
"We don't listen to him at all,” another added.
"It’s beyond doubt that he's ready to surrender everything [to Azerbaijan]. There's no need to even listen to him. He's willing to give up everything just to remain in power,” a man said.
"I don't listen to him at all, because it only makes me upset,” another noted.
