Singer says ready to fight against relocation of Yerevan Conservatory
A petition has been launched in support of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory in the Armenian capital. The initiative group demands that the government exclude the music institution from its program to build an academic campus.
"This is a cultural environment here. I can't imagine Komitas State Conservatory anywhere else," singer Vardan Badalyan told Panorama.am on Wednesday.
He said the reason for moving Yerevan Conservatory to the Academy City set to house all state-run universities of Armenia was incomprehensible to him.
Badalyan announced his readiness to fight against the relocation of the university. "I’m not sure about blocking any streets, but of course I am ready to fight. This is my university, I studied here, I am ready. Let's just find out why they want to relocate Conservatory," he said.
