Pro-government MP defends handover of border settlements to Azerbaijan
Pro-government MP Hovik Aghazaryan says Armenia should compromise with Azerbaijan over the surrender of border areas.
"There are no villages in Tavush Province that need to be handed over to Azerbaijan. There are settlements in Tavush that were part of Soviet Azerbaijan and should be returned to it," the MP from Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party told reporters on Tuesday.
His comments came after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan warned that Armenia could face a war with Azerbaijan “by the end of the week” if it refuses to compromise over four border villages demanded by Baku.
