Opposition MP: Armenia will get nothing in return for ceding new areas to Azerbaijan
Opposition Pativ Unem faction MP Tigran Abrahamyan has blasted the Armenian authorities for bowing to Azerbaijan’s demands for the Armenian withdrawal from four border villages as part of the so-called border delimitation process, stating Armenia will get nothing in return.
He brushed aside Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s latest warning that Armenia could face a war with Azerbaijan “by the end of the week” if it refuses to cede the villages.
The deputy claimed Armenia’s unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan would not bring peace to the country.
“Armenia faced new threats and war every time after making concessions to Azerbaijan over the past four years,” he underscored.
“Amid a lack of consensus on maps, the handover of four villages to Azerbaijan would not entail border delimitation and demarcation,” the MP argued.
