Armenian parliament starts plenary session
The National Assembly of Armenia started a four-day plenary session on Tuesday.
The parliament lacked the quorum to hold a session after only 47 lawmakers registered initially.
“Some of the MPs at the sessions hall have failed to register. I suppose the Pativ Unem faction MPs haven’t registered so that there would not be a quorum, but we will wait until the other deputies show up and a quorum is ensured,” Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan said.
He announced the start of the session shortly afterwards.
Rubinyan also revealed that Davit Karapetyan had taken up the parliament seat of Gevorg Papoyan, a former MP from the ruling Civil Contract party who was appointed minister of economy earlier in March.
