Armenian politician blasts unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan
Opposition politician Eduard Sharmazanov has slammed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government for unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan after his apparent readiness to cede four border villages to Baku.
“If Pashinyan surrenders four villages demanded by Azerbaijan, the Turks will get to the government villas in Yerevan, up to Kond. The Turks' demands will never end," Sharmazanov, a senior member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told Aysor.am in an interview on Tuesday.
The politician stresses the country “needs protection, not concessions to the enemy”, rejecting the normalization talks between Yerevan and Baku as imitation and accusing the Armenian authorities of bowing to all demands put forward by Azerbaijan.
"Has Azerbaijan fulfilled at least one condition set by Armenia to date? If there is such a term, show it. To those who voted for Pashinyan in the elections, did you want this? No? Then take to the streets. Do you oppose the former leaders? Well, they're not the ones organizing rallies. Go and stand with any national force!" he said.
