Pashinyan offers condolences to Putin over terrorist attack
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday extended condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the deadly terrorist attack on Friday night.
“Armenia strongly condemns this heinous crime against peaceful civilians,” the premier said in his message.
“I express my deepest condolences to you. Our thoughts are with the people of Russia and we express our sympathy and support to the families of the victims, who suffered irreparable loss,” reads the statement.
More than 60 people killed after gunmen entered a concert venue near Moscow and opened fired on the crowd - with Islamic State claiming responsibility for the atrocity, Sky News reported.
The attackers, wearing combat fatigues, also threw explosives causing a huge blaze at the 6,200-seat Crocus City Hall in the city of Krasnogorsk, 15 miles to the west of the capital.
At least 145 people were also injured in the assault on Friday evening, shortly before Soviet-era rock group Picnic was to due to perform.
