Azerbaijan creating pretext for military aggression against Armenia – Tatoyan Foundation
Azerbaijan is preparing the ground for military aggression against Armenia and unlawful detentions of Armenians, the Tatoyan Foundation said in a statement issued on Monday. The full statement is provided below.
"After Armenia made high-level statements about Voskepar, Baghanis and other villages, Azerbaijan immediately announced about a sham criminal case against Armenians under the articles of "subjecting Azerbaijanis to genocide and deportation".
Azerbaijan creates artificial grounds for military aggression against Armenia and unlawful imprisonments of Armenians by initiating false criminal cases.
In particular, yesterday the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan issued a statement that "on March 24, 1990, Armenians opened fire on Azerbaijani residents, as a result of which Azerbaijanis were killed and forcibly displaced from the villages. According to the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office, in 2005, 18 Armenians were charged with the "Baganis and Ayrum Genocide".
On May 5, 2015, a false criminal case was launched under Articles 103 (Genocide) and 107 (Forcible Deportation of the Population) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. According to that statement, allegedly "7 villages of the Ghazakh region continue to be under the occupation of Armenia, which [Armenia] is carrying out terrorism at the state level".
This shows that the said concession is full of new disastrous consequences, including unlawful arrests, abductions and captivity of Armenians.
All statements and actions of the Azerbaijani government indicate that it does not have any peace intentions, on the contrary, it acts with the most pronounced aggressive steps and threats directed at Armenia and Armenians."
