Vardenyats Pass closed to traffic amid snowstorm
The Rescue Service has warned drivers about road closures in Armenia on Tuesday afternoon.
In particular, the roads linking the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province remain closed.
Snowstorm has shut down the Vardenyats Pass in Vayots Dzor Province.
Snowfall has hit the Dilijan serpentines, the Ashotsk, Amasia, Aparan, Talin regions, as well as the towns of Sevan, Tsaghkadzor, Charentsavan, Hrazdan and Jermuk.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Armenia and Russia via Georgia is closed to trucks.
Drivers are urged to use winter tires.
