Opposition MP slams Pashinyan's Artsakh statements
Opposition Hayastan faction MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan has expressed support to the Artsakh government in exile following Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s latest statements.
At a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Pashinyan warned that “some circles forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh are voluntarily or involuntarily taking steps that pose threats to Armenia's national security.”
"Nikol and Aliyev have pursued the same policy towards Artsakh and Artsakh Armenians for a long time now. They act jointly and use the same wording to threaten Artsakh's government institutions and military and political leaders,” Saghatelyan wrote on Facebook.
“It’s not ruled out that after today's threats, a new wave of persecutions targeting Artsakh government officials and other public and political figures will begin,” the MP said, urging the displaced Artsakh Armenians to support their leadership.
“Obviously, Artsakh's page is not closed, while Pashinyan and Aliyev are doing their best to find a pro-Azerbaijani solution to the issue. I’d like to reiterate that Nikol Pashinyan’s rule poses the biggest threat to Armenia’s security, not the state institutions of Artsakh,” the deputy stated.
