Anzhela Elibegova: Ceasefire in April 2016 war reached at Azerbaijan's request
South Caucasus geopolitics expert Anzhela Elibegova claims the ceasefire agreement in the April 2016 war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) was reached at the request of Azerbaijan.
In a social media post on Tuesday, she blasted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s administration for Artsakh’s surrender to Azerbaijan, as well as plans to cede Armenian border areas to Baku.
“Those who invented myths about [retired Major-General Yuri] Khachaturov playing billboards, the battle with shovels, soldiers eating grass due to the lack of food are in power now and try to persuade the people that not only Artsakh, but also villages in Tavush Province were not ours,” she posted on Facebook on the eight war anniversary on Tuesday.
“With the same maniacal persistence, they will start convincing us in the near future that Yerevan is allegedly not ours either. They don’t respect any values, they have no shame or sense of responsibility,” Elibegova added.
