Armenia-Azerbaijan talks lack a distinct format and some verbal communications are coupled with occasional border tensions, says opposition Hayastan faction MP Armen Rustamyan.

“Thus, Azerbaijan and Turkey seek to achieve their goals through constant concessions from Armenia,” he told reporters at the National Assembly on Tuesday and did not rule out the possibility of a massive Azeri attack on Armenia.

"It’s not rule out that Azerbaijan could even resort to a large-scale offensive to get what it wants. In my opinion, Baku's goal is much more global and we ourselves have created fertile ground for Azerbaijan to achieve it through war,” the opposition MP stated.

“Statements of Armenian officials alleging that the territories demanded by Baku are Azerbaijani amount to a call for them to enter these areas by all means, including military.”

At the same time, Rustamyan decried Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan’s decision to skip the upcoming meeting of CIS foreign ministers in Minsk as “yet another adventure”.

"This adventurism started a long time ago. We have repeatedly announced that Armenia can raise a thousand questions to the CSTO, its strategic ally, and share its concerns, but the ongoing efforts to change the foreign policy vector could drag the war between Russia and the West into our territory and pose major risks for Armenia,” the MP underscored.
