Soprano Maria Sardaryan wins Tirana international festival
Armenian soprano Maria Sardaryan has been declared the winner of the 20th International Festival of Operatic Singers Marie Kraja in Tirana, Albania.
The festival was held at the venues of the Opera and Ballet House in Tirana for two consecutive nights, March 28 and 29.
Maria Sardaryan performed Mozart’s Queen of the Night aria.
The second prize went to Albanian soprano Juana Shtrepi and the third prize to Seungwoo Sun, a baritone from South Korea.
Only 16 singers out of 250 reached the semifinals.
