Minsk hosts meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers
The foreign ministers of the CIS member states honored the victims of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall with a minute of silence at the start of a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Minsk on 12 April, BelTA has learned.
“I invite all the participants to observe a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall,” Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said opening the meeting.
Besides Russians, among the victims of this horrifying crime are citizens of many countries of the CIS, the minister said. “Innocent people suffer from terrorism and its international component, regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion. We share the grief of relatives and friends of the victims, of the entire Russian nation,” he emphasized.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan decided to skip the meeting.
Armenia and Turkmenistan are represented at the meeting by a deputy minister.
