Armenia's NSS urges people not to panic over hoax threats to Yerevan schools
Armenia's National Security Service (NSS) has urged people not to panic over false threats of terrorist attacks on Yerevan schools, warning that such reports may be spread again.
"On March 11, anonymous messages about allegedly planned terrorist attacks on schools in Yerevan were sent to Armenian Telegram channels,” the NSS said in a statement.
The messages were posted on the account "Armenia End" created on the same day and spread by the closed account "Hrant Jambazyan", the law enforcement agency added.
“According to the preliminary assessment, it’s part of a coordinated information terrorism. The National Security Service urges the public not to give way to panic given that such false reports may be spread again,” reads the statement.
A criminal investigation has been initiated over spreading false reports about terrorism.
