Opposition files lawsuits against Civil Contract
The opposition Mother Armenia faction in the Yerevan City Council has filed three lawsuits against the municipal faction of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party, Mother Armenia councilor Andranik Tevanyan announced.
In a video posted on social media on Monday, he insisted on major efforts towards a change of power in Armenia.
“A struggle should be waged against Nikol Pashinyan’s government at all levels, using all tools available, including judicial proceedings,” he said.
“One of them is the Yerevan Municipality. Mother Armenia has filed three lawsuits against the Civil Contract faction,” Tevanyan added.
The legal claims concern the decision to increase the parking fees in Yerevan, the “unlawful” inauguration of Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan and the ouster of opposition members from the Yerevan City Council in February.
