Pashinyan meets with Voskepar residents
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday met with residents of Voskepar, a village in Tavush Province, to assure them that the Azerbaijani military would not be deployed in close proximity to the village, Voskepar resident, retired colonel Mihran Makhsudyan told Sputnik Armenia.
According to him, Pashinyan promised to take into account the local residents' concerns during the border delimitation with Azerbaijan.
"That is, the enemy will not go further than the village of Nerkin Voskepar on this side of the river. Earlier they were expected to be stationed right near the village of Voskepar. Now this idea has been abandoned," said Makhsudyan, who attended the meeting.
Pashinyan told them the issue was under discussion and expressed hope that it would be settled in the near future.
He gave strong assurances that an agreement on the exchange of territories with Azerbaijan would be favorable to local residents. No discussions were held on other areas.
