Valuable manuscripts being restored at Armenian Museum of America
Yerevan's Matenadaran is actively supporting the restoration of manuscripts from partner institutions abroad.
Currently, the head of the Department of Restoration, Gayane Eliazyan, and senior restorer Taguhi Chenterechyan are working on securing and restoring valuable manuscripts and amulets at the Armenian Museum of America, Matenadaran reported on Friday.
During their visit, they focused on restoring the 1207 parchment Gospel of the famous Chirag Desert, written by scribe Karapet, as well as a severely damaged collection dating from 1682-1726. Additionally, they are in the process of fixing and restoring valuable amulets, with 13 already successfully repaired.
