People allowed to enter church in Armenian border village
Police officers on Monday allowed people to enter the Holy Mother of God Church in Voskepar, a border village in Armenia's Tavush Province.
Tensions had been running high in the village since early Monday morning. The police and special forces of the National Security Service did not allow the people protesting against the planned land handover to Azerbaijan to approach the church due to the mine clearance in the area.
The people who gathered there urged them to stop the demining work, stressing that it helped prevent subversive attacks by Azerbaijani forces.
