Delimitation of Baghanis-Voskepar border section expected on Tuesday
The Baghanis-Voskepar road in Armenia’s Tavush Province has been closed due to mine clearance being carried out in the adjacent area, the Armenian Interior Ministry reports.
In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry said the road closure was aimed at barring people from entering the nearby mined areas for safety concerns.
“Delimitation of the Baghanis-Voskepar border section is to be carried out on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the reports alleging that any Armenian sovereign territory is planned to be handed over to Azerbaijan are false,” reads the statement.
The Interior Ministry states that no change in the Armenia-Azerbaijan frontier is expected today. After the border delimitation, Armenian border guards will be deployed there to protect the border.
