Catholicos Karekin II commemorates Armenian Genocide victims
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, accompanied by the members of the Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, on Wednesday visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex in Yerevan to pay tribute to the Armenian Genocide victims on its 109th anniversary.
After laying a wreath at the eternal flame, the pontiff offered an intercession service for the holy martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
Catholicos Karekin II called for national consolidation to cope with the security threats facing the country.
“Our message to the Armenian authorities is: as brave commander St. Vardan Mamikonyan should have said, do not mix bravery with cowardice! Cowardice is destructive, it sows death. Bravery is strength of spirit that defends justice and truth,” he told reporters.
