Opposition MP: Handover of 'enclaves' to Azerbaijan will paralyze Armenia
Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan warns that the surrender of four “enclaves” to Azerbaijan will completely paralyze Armenia.
He says Baku renewed its demands for Armenia to transfer the so called “enclaves” to Azerbaijan shortly after the Armenian government began handing over four border areas in Tavush Province.
Azeri President Ilham Aliyev also demanded more from Yerevan, saying that Armenia “must change its constitution, stop using Mount Ararat as a symbol and establish a land link between the eastern regions of Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan.”
“Although at this point the process is going on in and around the villages of Baghanis, Voskepar and Kirants, the Armenian and Azerbaijani authorities previously stated that the so-called four enclaves were to be surrendered to Azerbaijan at the next stage,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
"Three out of the four enclaves are located in Tavush Province and one is in Ararat Province. Their surrender will completely paralyze Armenia, while the alternatives offered by the authorities are solely an opportunity to crawl through,” the MP said, calling for accountability for all those contributing to Armenia's “collapse”.
