Prosecutor's Office asked to charge Pashinyan for land handover to Azerbaijan
The Prosecutor General’s Office has been asked to bring criminal charges against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the handover of sovereign Armenian territories in Tavush Province to Azerbaijan.
A crime report, filed by lawyer Ara Zohrabyan and retired army colonel Hayk Nahapetyan, accuses Pashinyan of treason and violation of Armenia’s territorial integrity under Articles 418 and 421 of the Penal Code following his government’s decision to cede four border villages to Baku as part of a delimitation deal.
The Prosecutor’s Office is requested to “launch a probe and bring Nikol Pashinyan to criminal liability”.
Under the Constitution, territorial changes in Armenia are possible only through a referendum.
