Armenian-Iranian film wins top award at Beirut International Women Film Festival
“The Song of Flying Leaves”, an Armenian-Iranian animated film directed by Armine Anda, has won the Best Short Animation award at the Beirut International Women Film Festival, the National Cinema Center reports.
The film is about a journey to a dream through a meeting between 12-year-old Suna, who lives alone in a forest, and sleeps under a blanket of leaves and a two-hundred-year-old man in possession of secret knowledge.
It is a reflection on tender and wise friendship between a father and a daughter, a teacher and a student, an adult and a child, and how when accepting to trust, the impossible can turn into possible.
