Video shows brutal detention of protesters in Armenian border village
A video released by the Tavush for the Homeland movement shows police officers using excessive force to detain protesters blocking a strategic road near Kirants, a border village in Armenia’s Tavush Province, early on Thursday morning.
“The police are using brute force against Kirants residents defending their homes and homeland,” reads the video caption.
As many as 31 villagers protesting the land handover to Azerbaijan were taken to the Tavush police station. The Armenian Interior Ministry said later in the morning that all the detainees were released from the police custody.
