Armenian Prosecutor's Office sent crime report against Pashinyan to NSS
The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office has forwarded a request to bring criminal charges against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the National Security Service (NSS), Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan said on Friday.
"The report has been sent to the NSS to verify the documents, including a number of property certificates attached to it. After the verification, the issue of launching criminal proceedings will be discussed," she said at a parliament session, responding to MP Taguhi Tovmasyan.
The crime report, filed by lawyer Ara Zohrabyan and retired army colonel Hayk Nahapetyan, accused Pashinyan of treason and violation of Armenia’s territorial integrity under Articles 418 and 421 of the Penal Code following his government’s decision to cede four border villages to Baku as part of a delimitation deal.
Under the Constitution, territorial changes in Armenia are possible only through a referendum.
