Actor: March led by Tavush religious leader seeks justice and truth
Famous stage and screen actor Tigran Nersisyan has expressed support for the protest march against the land surrender to Azerbaijan led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
The march from the border village of Kirants to Yerevan kicked off on 4 May following non-stop protests against the unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government on 19 April.
“This is a march for unity, justice and truth which it’s going to provide,” Nersisyan, who holds the title of Armenia’s honored artist, told Panorama.am on Tuesday.
The actor plans to join the marchers who are expected to reach Yerevan on May 9.
“This is a process against injustice and illegal land handover [to Azerbaijan] which must be blocked,” he stressed.
The actor defended the Tavush religious leader’s decision to lead the march.
"Clergymen have always been first of all citizens who have a civil position to express. Today, a clergyman is leading a march aimed at establishing justice and truth,” he added.
