Watch live: Tavush for the Homeland movement heading to Yerevan
Members and supporters of the Tavush for the Homeland movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan of the Tavush Diocese continued their march to Yerevan from the city of Abovyan in Kotayk Province on Thursday morning.
The marchers aim to reach Yerevan late on Thursday afternoon. A nationwide rally is scheduled to be held at Yerevan’s central Republic Square from 4pm.
The protesters will march towards Republic Square along the route of Tbilisi Highway, Komitas Avenue, Bagramyan Avenue, Mashtots Avenue and Amiryan Street.
The Tavush for the Homeland movement aims to compel the Armenian government to halt the unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan as part of a border delimitation process. The movement’s future actions are contingent on the government’s response to their demands.
