LIVE: People gather in central Yerevan for big rally
Panorama.am is broadcasting live from Republic Square in central Yerevan.
A large group of people have gathered here to join participants of the march led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
The Tavush for the Homeland movement announced a nationwide rally in Republic Square late on Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, a large number of police forces have been deployed to Republic Square and the area adjacent to the Armenian government building.
The Tavush for the Homeland movement aims to compel the Armenian government to halt the unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan as part of a border delimitation process. The movement’s future actions are contingent on the government’s response to their demands.
