Public employees in Armenia reportedly warned against joining rallies
Public servants have been reportedly warned that they will risk losing their jobs if they join protests organized by the Tavush for the Homeland movement, human rights activist Ruben Melikyan said.
"We’ll provide legal assistance to citizens fired for participating in a peaceful assembly,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“Reports suggest that employees of some state and community agencies have been warned that they will be fired if they take part in peaceful rallies organized by the Tavush for the Homeland movement.
"In this regard, we announce our readiness to provide free legal assistance to those people as well. We advise them to reject "calls" to submit resignation and recommend recording such threats. The hotline 095 08 87 87 is available 24 hours a day,” the activist said.
