Hayakve member detained at protest in Yerevan
Menua Soghomonyan, a senior member of the Hayakve initiative, was detained during a peaceful civil disobedience in Yerevan on Saturday.
Heeding a call from Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan of the Tavush Diocese, the leader of a civil disobedience movement against the Armenian government’s unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan, protesters have blocked roads in Yerevan since Saturday morning.
The Interior Ministry said as many as 41 demonstrators were detained for “defying” police orders.
