Protesters released after brief detention in Yerevan
All the protesters detained during acts of civil disobedience in Yerevan on Monday morning were released, human rights activist Varazdat Harutyunyan said.
The activist was among more than 150 people who were detained while blocking streets in the Armenian capital as part of a protest movement against the Armenian government’s unilateral territorical concessions to Azerbaijan.
Earlier, Harutyunyan and four other human rights activists expressed readiness to protect the rights of those joining peaceful protests held by the Tavush for the Homeland movement. Around 20 lawyers joined the initiative later.
