Civil disobedience actions continue in Yerevan
Acts of civil disobedience resumed in Yerevan on Tuesday morning in a push for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s ouster.
Heeding a call from Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan of the Tavush Diocese, the leader of a civil disobedience movement against the Armenian government’s unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan, protesters began blocking streets in different parts of the Armenian capital.
Earlier on Monday, the senior cleric called for more peaceful protests across Armenia in an effort to step up pressure on Armenian MPs to remove Pashinyan through a vote of no confidence.
“The truth will prevail, no matter what,” he announced.
Protests were scheduled to be held near the Marshal Baghramyan, Sasuntsi Davit and Yeritasardakan subway stations.
Chanting “Armenian, Armenia, Homeland and God!”, activists carried out an awareness campaign along Abovyan Street.
Other groups of protesters blocked the Sayat-Nova-Nalbandyan and Sayat-Nova-Abovyan intersections in central Yerevan.
