Expert: Armenia has become a dictatorship
Constitutional law expert Vardan Poghosyan claims Armenia has fallen into dictatorship under Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s rule.
“In fact, Armenia has become a dictatorship with its leader surrendering parts of our homeland in compliance with the demands of Turkey and Azerbaijan,” he told Panorama.am at a protest opposing the Armenian government’s border deal with Azerbaijan and demanding Pashinyan’s resignation held outside the government building on Thursday.
The expert blasted the heavy police deployment outside the government building, which was cordoned off ahead of the rally.
Separately, Poghosyan stated that the protocol signed by the Armenian and Azerbaijani border delimitation commissions on Wednesday had no legal validity.
“The protocol runs counter to Article 205 of the Armenian Constitution, which stipulates that any territorial change in Armenia must be put to a referendum,” he underscored.
